The use of screw compressor is more and more extensive, some screw compressor actual exhaust volume is lower than the standard exhaust one, what is the reason? What causes it?


  Theoretically speaking, the exhaust volume of screw compressor depends on the volume between teeth, number of teeth and speed. For the compressor, the reason why the actual exhaust volume is less than the theoretical exhaust volume mainly includes the following factors:


  (1) leakage. When the rotor and the rotor shell rotate, they cannot be contacted, and there will be a certain gap, so there will be gas leakage. When the pressure increases and the gas leaks to the suction pipe and the meshing groove, the exhaust volume will be reduced. In order to reduce the leakage, a sealing tooth is made on the top of the driven rotor, a sealing groove is made on the tooth root of the active rotor, and a ring or strip sealing tooth is also processed on the end face. If these sealing lines are worn, the leakage will increase and the exhaust volume will decrease;


  (2) Inspiratory state. Screw compressor is a volume type air compressor, the volume of suction is constant. When the suction temperature increases or the suction pipe resistance is too large to reduce the suction pressure, the density of the gas decreases, and the mass exhaust volume of the gas correspondingly decreases;


  (3) Cooling effect. In the process of compression, the temperature of the gas will rise, and the temperature of the rotor and the casing will rise accordingly. Therefore, in the process of suction, the gas will be heated by the rotor and the casing and expand, so the suction capacity will be reduced accordingly. Some of the rotors of screw air compressor are cooled by oil and the shell is cooled by water. One of the purposes is to reduce its temperature. When the cooling effect is not good, the temperature increases and the exhaust volume decreases;


  (4) speed. The displacement of screw compressor is in direct proportion to the rotating speed. However, the rotating speed often changes with the voltage and frequency of the power grid. When the voltage is reduced (for asynchronous motors) or the frequency is reduced, the rotating speed will be reduced to reduce the air volume.


  The above factors are the main reasons why the actual exhaust volume of screw compressor is lower than the standard exhaust. The daily use of air compressor should pay attention to safety, regular inspection and regular maintenance, so as to improve the service life of compressor.
